The altitude test is conducted to determine the effects of reduced pressure on equipment which it encounters during shipment by air and for satisfactory operation under pressure conditions found at high elevations.

EQUIPMENT
Veeco Corp. Type RG 75-K high altitude chamber.
Chamber size: 18 inches in diameter by 26 inches high.
Four inch oil diffusion pump with a Welch Duo-seal Fore pump. Liquid Nitrogen cold trap.
Used to conduct high altitude tests.
Vacuum: 1 X 10-5 torr

High Vacuum



Aerospace Testing Corp. Model KC15 altitude chamber.
A temperature controlled vacuum chamber with a 15-CFM Kinney vacuum pump.
Used for altitude tests to 200,000 feet.
Chamber dimensions: 23 inches inside diameter by 50 inches long.
Minimum working pressure: 0.17 inches of Mercury.
Temperature: –100 degrees Fahrenheit to +200 degrees Fahrenheit
